So I decided to cut costs and replace my SEMRush subscription with an Ubersuggest subscription. With SEMRush, I paid over $100 per month. Ubersuggest was priced at around $300 for a lifetime membership. Great savings, I thought. What could go wrong? Well, Ubersuggest is not SEMRush; it lacks a lot of its appeal, features, data, and more.
To be honest, I can't bring myself to use Ubersuggest much even though I bought it. It looks and feels cheap. When I do keyword research with it, its search data is usually not updated recently. Also, the search data with similar searches and search counts is very lacking compared with SEMRush. I actually find myself using the free version of SEMRush more than I use Ubersuggest now.
The web design of Ubersuggest is very white. I prefer dark themes, and when that's not available, as is the case here, I really wish the website were not all white, as that makes screens emit so much light. Also, there are sometimes pop-ups for upsells, which are annoying.
Conclusion
Even though I don't have much positive to say about this software, it is very cheap compared with its competitors. That makes it a contender. I do not regret buying it, and I've saved a lot of money by not paying for SEMRush for a year or so now.
I would recommend Ubersuggest to anyone on a shoestring budget who needs a way to do keyword research and track website rankings. If you can afford it, though, I would suggest instead going for SEMRush or Ahrefs, which I plan to do in the future myself.
